Weekly Update

Posted on Monday, July 30th, 2007 by Pat

This Friday evening, August 3 at 7:30, we will be performing in a concert setting at The Dix Hills Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Five Towns College in Dix Hills.  Tickets are 10 dollars and there will be two bands - the Ronsen Hawkins Band will be on after us playing rock and contemporary country.  This is a comfortable, air-conditioned, 500-seat theatre and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to present ourselves in a different type of venue.  You can purchase tickets by calling the DHPAC at 631-656-2148 or by visiting their website, www.dhpac.org.

On Sunday, August 5 we’ll be on the outdoor deck at Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport, from 2 PM until 6.

Our next public date following this will be on Friday, August 17 when we’re in Freeport at
Hudson & McCoy, 340 Woodcleft Avenue. And finally, Sunday the 19th, will find us right back at Claudio’s.

That’s it for now, have a great week!

Weekly Update

Posted on Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 by Pat

I’m going to lead off this week with the news that we’ll be making a pinch-hitting appearance as National Anthem singers at Shea Stadium this Wednesday, July 25, prior to the Mets/Pirates game at 7:10 PM,  marking the fifth consecutive year we’ve been so honored.  If you’d like to come out, tickets can be purchased by calling 718-507-TIXX or by visiting www.newyorkmets.com – just don’t be late!  The game will be broadcast on SportsNet NY, but I’m not certain whether or not the anthem performance will be televised.

OK, batting second — and please excuse the corny baseball metaphors this week — is a reminder that a mere ten bucks will get you into the concert of the century!  OK, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but a ticket for Friday, August 3, gets you a seat in Five Towns College’s Dix Hills Center for the Performing Arts for two fine bands, the first of which will be yours’ truly.  Following our one-hour-ish set will be a short intermission and the Ronsen Hawkins Band, whose repertoire is similar to our own with some contemporary country thrown in.  Tickets are 10 dollars and can be purchased by calling the DHPAC at 631-656-2148 or by visiting www.dhpac.org

And while you’re there you might want to buy tickets to American Dating Disasters V, an evening of 8 short comedies dedicated to the “art” of dating. This is a production of John Blenn and Middle Class American Productions – many of you will recall that I’ve appeared in a dozen of John’s shows in the past and that X-Session provided the backing music for “Awards Show,” a recent MCAP play.  Dating Disasters will run this weekend only, Thursday July 26 thru Saturday July 28 at 7:30 PM.

Also,  please do NOT use Mapquest to get directions to the Performing Arts Center, the directions they give you are wrong.  Use the directions on the DHPAC website instead.

Finally, there’s a couple of Claudio’s dates on the horizon.  On Sunday, July 29, and on Sunday, August 5, we’ll be on the outdoor deck at 111 Main Street, Greenport, from 2 PM until 6.

I apologize for the very long e-mail.  You guys have a great week and we’ll try to do the same…….

I’d like to begin this week with a reminder that we will be on the big stage at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center along with the Ronsen Hawkins Band on Friday evening, August 3rd at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $10.00 and are available by calling the DHPAC at 631-656-2148 or by visiting www.dhpac.org.  Playing a concert in a theatre-setting, as most of you know, is not something we usually do so we’re looking forward to this with great anticipation.

And speaking of anticipation, we always look forward to playing Matty T’s Roadhouse, 356 Commack Road, Deer Park, and this weekend is no exception. We’ll be at Matty’s this Saturday night, July 21, at 10 PM.

Our dates on the 27th and 28th are private but we will be back at Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport on Sunday afternoon, July 29, from 2 PM until 6.

That’s it for now, I hope your week will be a good one.  And thank you, as always, for your continued support — I assure you we will never take it for granted.

OK, e-mail number two in the new website era…..

We’re going to take it easy on my gas gauge this weekend by staying in Nassau County for a few days.  On Friday night, July 13, we’ll be at Sunset Grill, 4068 Sunrise Hwy, Seaford. We’ll get started here at about 10 PM.

On Saturday, July 14, we’ll be playing for the members of the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, and on Sunday evening, July 15, we’ll be at Freeport’s Hudson & McCoy, 340 Woodcleft Ave. We plan on going on sometime between 5 and 6 PM.

Then, on Saturday, July 21, we’ll be back at Matty T’s Roadhouse, 356 Commack Road, Deer Park, from 10 until 2.

And don’t forget that you can see us at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at Five Towns College on Friday evening August 3.  In “An Evening of Classic Rock & Pop
60s to Present
” we’ll be sharing the bill with the Ronsen Hawkins Band and getting underway at about 7:30 PM.  Tickets are 10 dollars and can be purchased by calling the DHPAC Box Office at 631-656-2148.

That’s about all for now, have a great week.

OK, this is the first e-mail using the blog feature from the new website and frankly I’m a little nervous………

We’re going to be out at Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport, this Wednesday, July 4, from 2 until 6.  It feels like we were just there yesterday!

Following a pair of private parties this coming weekend, we return to Sunset Grill, 4068 Sunrise Hwy., Seaford on Friday, July 13, at 10 PM.  Also, following a private gig at Atlantic Beach’s Sun & Surf Club on the 14th, we’re at Hudson & McCoy, 340 Woodcleft Avenue, Freeport, on Sunday evening, July 15th.  We’ll start here at either 5 or 6 PM, I’ll know by next week.

I also wanted to take a moment to mention that we’ll be “live and in concert” at The Dix Hills Center For The Performing Arts at Five Towns College (now there’s a mouthful!) on Friday night August 3rd. We will be playing a one hour set after which The Ronsen Hawkins Band takes the stage for a one-hour set of their own. Tickets are 10 dollars and are available through the Five Towns College ticket office, 631-656-2148, or by visiting  www.dhpac.org.

So, I’m going to send this now and hope I don’t blow up all of your computers or something, have a Happy Fourth at any rate, hopefully with us at Claudio’s!
