News, Words, & Wisdom from X-Session’s Musicians.

Weekly Update

Following a weekend off we get back to work on Friday, August 17, at Hudson & McCoy, 340 Woodcleft Avenue, Freeport. We start at 7 PM and play until 11.

Saturday’s gig is private, but on Sunday, August 19th, we’re on the outdoor deck at Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport.   Fill up your tank and take a ride and see some of the most beautiful scenery Long Island has to offer. Oh yeah, we play from 2 PM until 6.

I’d also like to mention that our very own Eddie Profet Jr. — X-Session’s bassist, harmonica & tambourine player, vocalist, photographer, and musicologist — will be playing alongside Wonderous Stories’ Kenny Forgione and Liverpool’s (the band, not the city) John Merjave in a night of Beatles music. These three exceptional musicians will be performing in an outdoor setting, The Common Ground in Sayville, on Wednesday evening, August 29, at 8 PM. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy a late summer’s evening with three walking Beatles’ encyclopedias.

Also, a belated “thank you” to those of you who saw us at Five Towns College on August 3rd. Your support was much appreciated, and you proved that you CAN listen to X-Session without a beer in your hand…….

That’s all for now, folks, talk to you next week.

Pat

    Hi,

I’m a fan who first saw you play a D’Laney’s. You were wonderful. I’ve been meaning to get out to another show but I just had a baby. My son Cash is now almost 6 months old. I would love to come see you at Claudios this weekend with my mom and son but I’m worried that it would be too rowdy for the baby. I think that because it is a sunday it might be more mellow, but I know Claudios can get crowded. What is your experience with playing there? I know Cash would love the music (he slept through the DJ at a wedding), but the space and people is what I’m concerned about.

Thanks in advance for the advice,
    Marissa

It’s never rowdy there but it can get crowded, especially if the weather is nice. Lots of people bring infants and toddlers. There is usually space along the outer part of the deck where you can sit and park a stroller, and even if there isn’t I’m sure someone will make space for someone with a six-month old. It isn’t a problem at all so by all means come on out and be sure to come up and say “hi.” By the way, I love the name you chose, Cash. Is he named after Johnny, or did you just like the name?
