X-Session, Unfiltered

It’s another rare Nassau County date on Friday, September 21, when we return to Sunset Grill, 4068 Sunrise Hwy, Seaford. We get started at 10 PM here.

Sunday, September 23, will find us at Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport, for the final time in 2007. This appearance coincides with Greenport’s annual Maritime Festival in which the town closes the streets to auto traffic and features sidewalk vendors and rides and such. We can be found at our customary location on the deck but will look to get underway at 1:30, a little earlier than usual.

Our next public dates following these will be the weekend of October 5 & 6 when we return to Mike’s Place, 24 Middle Country Rd., Coram, on Friday, October 5 and appear at The John Lennon Tribute concert at Five Towns College on Saturday, October 6. Obviously, more on those in next week’s e-mail.

There are two chances to see us this coming weekend beginning with a date at one of our favorite locales, Matty T’s Roadhouse, 356 Commack Road, Deer Park. We’ll be there on Saturday, September 15, at 10 PM. Matty’s also has Spike the (Mechanical) Bull in the back parking lot this Saturday which always makes for an interesting diversion.

On Sunday evening, September 16, we’ll be at Hudson & McCoy, 340 Woodcleft Avenue, Freeport. We should be starting about 6 PM.

There is a Sunset Grill date that’s been added that isn’t yet on our website for Friday night, September 21. I’m going to guess the start time is 10 PM, but I’ll know for sure in next week’s e-mail. On Sunday, September 23, we’ll play our final date of the year at Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport. This is the day of Greenport’s annual Maritime Festival, and it brings an earlier 1:30 PM start for us.

As the Summer season draws to a close, I think it appropriate to once again express our appreciation to every one of you for your support. To borrow an expression from our good friend John Blenn, without you we would just be three guys sitting in a basement getting on each other’s nerves!

First off, Eddie asked me to extend a “thank you” to all of you who came down to The Common Ground last week for his Beatle show. He said there were about 200 attendees in all, and a good many of you were from this list.

Our schedule for this weekend consists of two private jobs, but we’ll be at Matty T’s Roadhouse, 356 Commack Road, Deer Park, on Saturday, September 15, at 10 PM and at Freeport’s Hudson & McCoy, 340 Woodcleft Avenue, on Sunday evening, September 16.

I’d also like to take a moment to remind you that our Cafepress merchandise store is up and running at www.cafepress.com/xsession/. Or you can click on the “Store” link from our website. The profits from the merchandise, which we’ve set at a flat 2 dollars per item, will be donated to the American Cancer Society – both Jim and I recently lost parents to that disease. And hey, I’ll even go out on a limb to say that I’ll buy a drink for anyone who shows up at a gig wearing one of our items.
