News, Words, & Wisdom from X-Session's Musicians.

Weekly Update

Hudson & McCoy in Freeport has decided to close for the season and in so doing our final gig of the year there, previously scheduled for this Friday September 18th, is cancelled. We’re sorry if this causes any inconvenience.

And while Labor Day signifies the unofficial end of Summer, for us the harbinger is the Maritime Festival gig at
Claudio’s, 111 Main Street, Greenport.  That one goes down this Sunday, September 20, when we start about 1:30 and play until half past five.  Main St. will be closed to vehicle traffic and the shopkeepers will be selling their wares on the sidewalk.  As such it’s a slightly tougher park and a little more walking than the usual Claudio’s Sunday, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

Looking ahead, yet another harbinger of Fall  — a Friday Happy Hour at Napper Tandy’s — shows up on the schedule for Friday evening, September 25.  This one is at Napper’s Smithtown, 15 E Main St, from 7 ’til 11.  And we’ll be looking forward to the return to Matty T’s, 356 Commack Road, Deer Park that happens on Saturday night, October 3.

And finally this evening here’s another reminder that you can catch us in a concert setting at The Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at Five Towns College on Friday October 23, at 7:30 PM.  The concert will be “A Tribute To 70′s Classic Rock” (aka “That 70′s Show”…:).  We’re the only band that night so we’ll be able to stretch out a little and perhaps play some tunes we’ve never done before. Please visit www.dhpac.org to purchase tickets online.

Once again sorry about the cancellation this Friday, but just gas up the car and come out to Greenport on Sunday instead!  Talk to you next week.
