Weekly Update
Posted on Monday, October 26th, 2009 by PatThanks to all who came out to support us at Five Towns last Friday, it was comforting to see familiar faces in the audience. And “hello” and “thank you” to the folks who signed up to receive these updates after seeing us for the first time. I wish I had more dates to tell you about but yet another medical issue has reared it’s ugly head and, after telling you about a date this coming weekend, I’m going to turn this letter over to Jim to let him tell you about it.
First, the good news. This Friday, October 30, we’re making a rare Happy Hour appearance at Napper Tandy’s, 229 Laurel Avenue, Northport. Yes, you read that right, Northport. We haven’t played a happy hour here in about three years by my recollection, though we’ve done a few 10 PM Saturday gigs from time to time. It’s a 7 PM start and an 11 PM finish, just like at the other Nappers.
On Halloween night we play a private party, and following that we’ll be taking off for about 6 weeks whilst Jim rests an ailing rotator cuff. I’ll let him tell you more about it below. As always, have a great week and I’ll talk to you ………….eventually.
Pat
Hey Gang,
Jim here. I know what you’re thinking, “if Jim is writing then something must be wrong.” Well, kinda. Just when the vocal cords are feeling great I injure my left shoulder. Actually, this painful situation has been brewing for several months now. The doc said in addition to tendonitis, I have some small tears and strains in the rotator cuff. So, in an effort to avoid further complications – like surgery, I have to force the guys to take off all of November. Then, after four weeks of pure rest, I’ll see if I’ll be able to play. I know I can speak for the guys in offering our apologies for any inconvenience. But, let’s face it, sometimes a little break can do wonders.
Thanks so much for understanding and, as always, we deeply appreciate all of your support.
