X-Session, Unfiltered

There aren’t any public X-Session gigs to mention this weekend, but I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you about a special event that we’re doing in a few weeks.

X-Session, along with Five Towns College faculty member Joe Kuhl, will be playing the entire John Lennon Tribute concert at Five Towns on October 16. Many of you know that in past years we’ve contributed a single song’s performance, and last year Eddie played the entire show while Jim, Joe and I contributed occasionally. However, this year we will be playing all songs in the show, along with the aforementioned Mr. Kuhl lending his considerable talents on vocals, piano, bass, and guitar.

The concert is Saturday night October 16th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are 20 dollars and can be purchased online by visiting dhpac.org/performances/lennon_bday.html. You can also order by phone by calling the Performing Arts Center’s box office at 631.656.2148.

Meanwhile, I have solo performances this week at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore on Thursday evening September 9th at 7 PM and at Sanibel Chophouse, 12 Watkins St., Lynbrook on Friday September 10 at 9 PM.

On Saturday, September 4, we will be celebrating the Labor Day weekend on the North Fork at Claudio’s,111 Main St., Greenport. Please note that this a Saturday gig, which is customary for us at Claudio’s on a Holiday weekend. We play from 2 until 6. I also see that this is our last public date in September until we reurn to Claudio’s on Saturday September 25, the weekend of the Maritime Festival.

Ed and I have a couple of duo gigs in the interim —  playing at Lola’s Wine Bar in Long Beach on Friday September 17th, and at Churchill’s in Rockville Centre on Friday September 24th.

And then there’s me. I play solo at 7 PM this Wednesday evening, September 1, at a cool Southwest-type place called RS Jones, 153 Merrick Ave., Merrick. There’s bar seating as well as some terrific Tex-Mex cuisine in the dining room, and I can be heard throughout.

And this and every Thursday at 7 PM I play solo at a comfortable little place in Bellmore called Greek Delight. They’re located at 2601 Merrick Rd. There’s a few cocktail tables if that is your desire, or delicious Greek food at the tables.

Saturday night August 28th will find the full X-Session lineup playing at Tide Runners, 7 North Rd., Hampton Bays. A few things worth mentioning about this one: it’s early – we start at 6:30 and play until 9:30 sharp to placate the neighbors – and it’s weather-dependent so keep an eye on the sky and look for a Twitter update from me if we have a last minute rainout.

Yes, Twitter. I’m no Lindsay Lohan or Chad Ochocinco but I started the Twitter account to be able to disseminate last-minute info (such as weather cancellations) from my cell phone. In fact my last “tweet” was about a June 12 rainout at Tiderunners, so rest assured I won’t pester you with tweets about me doing my laundry. To receive our tweets on your cell phone simply text “follow XSessionmusic” to 40404.

Don’t forget the holiday weekend is only two weeks away – I know, incredible. We will be at Claudio’s111 Main St., Greenport on Saturday, September 4 at 2 PM to celebrate it.

And, in what should come as no surprise to anyone who regularly reads this far down, I will be playing my weekly solo gig at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore, on Thursday night, August 26th.

My entire solo schedule, as well as any gigs with either Eddie, Joe, or both, can now be found at the still-under-construction website: patmontefusco.com. Catchy name, huh? Like I said, it’s still a work in progress but it does have the smaller X-Session combos’ appearances in the meantime.

The full X-Session lineup will be playing in Greenport on Saturday afternoon, August 21, from 2 PM until 6 at Claudio’s,111 Main St. Odd that we’re playing on a Saturday when it isn’t a holiday weekend, but a Saturday it is.

And if you need to warm-up for that one, you can catch me playing all by my lonesome twice this week. I’ll be at La Bottega, 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park on Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 9 and at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore on Thursday from 7 until 10.

On Saturday August 7 at 6:30 PM X-Session will be in all our four-piece glory at Tide Runners, 7 North Rd., Hampton Bays. The date is weather-dependent, and it’s also only a three-hour show ending at 9:30 so don’t be late! On Sunday August 8th, we’ll be at the Windsor Park Pool in Bayside.

Additionally, I have three mid-week solo dates this week at three fine eating establishments. On Tuesday, August 3, I will be at La Bottega, 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park, from 6:30 until 9 PM.
Wednesday, August 4 it’s RS Jones, 153 Merrick Ave., Merrick, from 7 ’til 10 and Thursday, August 5 I’ll be at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore from 7 PM until 10.

On Tuesday evening, July 27, an X-Session solo lineup — me — will be playing at La Bottega, 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park, at 6:30 PM, as well as at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore, on Thursday, July 29 at 7 PM.

An X-Session duo lineup of Ed and myself will be at Churchill’s, 18 South Park Ave., Rockville Centre, on Friday, July 30 from 5 PM until 8.

And the X-Session trio lineup of Jim, Ed, and myself will be at Claudio’s111 Main St., Greenport, on Sunday, August 1st at 2 PM.

Lastly, the full X-Session crew — Jim, Ed. Joe, and myself — will be at Tide Runners, 7 North Rd., Hampton Bays, on Saturday, August 7 at 6:30 PM.

With Joe, Eddie and Jim on holiday for another week the only dates to talk about are my weekly Thursday nighter at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd, Bellmore, on Thursday July 22nd at 7 PM, and a Friday night date at Sanibel Chophouse, 12 Watkins St., Lynbrook on Friday July 23rd.  Additionally, I’ll be back at La Bottega, 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park, on Tuesday, July 27.

Eddie and I return as a duo to Churchill’s in Rockville Centre for a Happy Hour on Friday, July 30th at 5 PM, and the “Classic” X-Session lineup — Eddie, Jim, and myself — is at Claudio’s on Sunday, August 1. The full four-piece unit’s next public date is Saturday, August 7, at Tide Runners in Hampton Bays, a 6:30 PM start.

It’s all about me this week as the fellas take a weekend off. First, I have a rare Tuesday night gig — I can’t remember the last time I played on a Tuesday night — on July 13 at La Bottega, 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park. I’m going to start at about 6:30 PM and play until 9. Click on their name to visit their website to learn more about the place.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Thursday without my regular 7-10 PM gig at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore. This Thursday, July 15 marks the 28th consecutive Thursday night I’ve played here — that puts me halfway to Joe DiMaggio.

And finally, on Saturday July 17th I’ll be debuting at a new locale, J. Paul’s, 239 Merrick Rd., Oceanside. I’m playing in the bar area at about 9 PM.

The X-Session trio lineup of Jim, Eddie and myself will be at Claudio’s this Sunday afternoon, July 11, at 2 PM. Claudio’s is located at 111 Main St. in Greenport. It was this lineup that played exclusively as X-Session from 1997 to 2007 before Young Buck Joe DeJesu joined to give us a shot of youthful enthusiasm!

I also have solo dates “up the wazoo” (whatever that means!) in the next week or so. This Wednesday, July 7, I’ll be at RS Jones, 153 Merrick Ave, Merrick from 7 until 10. On Thursday July 8th, as you all know if you’ve been on this list for any length of time, it’s my weekly gig at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore, also from 7 until 10.

Then on Saturday night July 10th, I return to Sanibel Chophouse, 12 Watkins St., Lynbrook, where I’ll play from 9 until midnite.

And lastly I’ll be playing at a new locale and on a new night. Tuesday, July 13, I’ll be at La Bottega, 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park. I’m going to start at 6:30 and take it straight thru until closing at 9 PM.

The Fourth of July weekend is upon us and the full X-Session lineup will be celebrating it on the North Fork at Claudio’s, 111 Main St., Greenport on Saturday, July 3rd. We’ll be on the picturesque outdoor deck from 2 PM until 6.

And you can catch me doing my solo act every Thursday evening at Greek Delight, 2601 Merrick Rd., Bellmore from 7 PM until 10. Also I’ll be returning to RS Jones, 153 Merrick Ave., Merrick, on Wednesday evening July 7 at 7 PM (7 PM on 7/7!).
